Barbara West Stone

Chief Development Officer
Barbara Stone joined UCAN in 2007, bringing over 29 years of development and fundraising experience to the agency. From 1980 to 2000, Barb advanced development and fundraising activities for The Art Institute of Chicago. Her experience includes program development, project management, donor cultivation and board development. From 2000 to 2007, she worked as a fundraising consultant for a diverse range of not-for-profit organizations in the Chicago area. Barb joined the Alford Group Inc. in June 2004 as Associate Vice President, serving the non profit community with the Alford Group's team of consultants until coming to UCAN.
At UCAN, Barb brings her creative talents and passion to serve UCAN's vision and mission in her role of raising public awareness and private capital from individuals, corporations and foundations. Broadening her perspective in philanthropy, Barb also serves as a trustee of a family foundation and as a woman's board member for The Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago. She received her B.S. degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, and with her husband, raised three children in Chicago.
