CITY's campus will:
- Consist of a 7.5 acre campus in Chicago's North Lawndale community
Be located at Fillmore Street and Independence Boulevard Include a Therapeutic Youth Home, a space specifically designed to advance the healing of young people severely traumatized by violence and its many effects House UCAN's program center and headquarters Include significant green space to be used by both UCAN and the community Provide an opportunity to partner with west side organizations to address the significant needs of the community Promote the revitalization of a large, vacant area, which will positively affect North Lawndale's job creation Create approximately 426 temporary (new and retained) construction jobs onsite during campus development Maximize the participation of minority and women-owned businesses (M/WBEs) during construction. Further, we have committed to award a minimum of 50% of the professional services contracts to M/WBE firms.
