Emmett Vaughn
Emmett Vaughn serves Exelon Corporation as Director of the Office of Diverse Business Empowerment. In this role he provides strategic direction and oversight for approximately $500 Million of business deals done between Exelon and minority/woman owned businesses annually. Since joining Exelon, the company has experienced significant success in national supplier diversity and economic development initiatives. Joining the company in 2005, over $2.3 Billion dollars in "new business" for MWBE's has been realized under Emmett's leadership, all in alignment with corporate supply management strategies. Exelon Corporation is the nation's largest nuclear power company and parent company to Chicago based ComEd, but also owns utility interests and electric generation in 8 other states.



In addition to his corporate experience, he is accomplished in working with Public Sector entities and Not for Profit Organizations. In 2000 he spent a year as a "loaned executive advisor" to Reverend Jesse Jackson and the Rainbow PUSH coalition on various national minority business and civil rights projects. The foundation of his expertise was developed as a senior consultant for RGMA Consulting, a Chicago based management consulting firm. Additional Fortune 500 corporate experiences include developing the supplier diversity strategies for Albertsons Inc. (retail, then parent of Jewel-Osco) and RR Donnelley & Sons Co the largest U.S. based commercial printing company.

In 2009 Emmett was awarded the "Lifetime Achievement Award" by the US Department of Commerce - Minority Business Development Agency for contribution to regional minority business growth.

He is an MBA from The Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and currently serving as a professor in the school of business at Chicago State University.

His civic activities include being Board Chairman of the Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council, Chairman of the Diversity Advisory Board, for UCAN, and serving on the Board of Roosevelt University's School of Business. Personal affiliations include Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and various ministries as a member of Salem Baptist Church of Chicago.
