Frederick Patz joined UCAN in the fall of 1996 with twenty six years' experience in education and twenty-four in special education.  He currently holds the role of VP of Educational Services, overseeing UCAN Academy.

When Fred came to UCAN, the school had fewer than twenty students.  Today, UCAN Academy is the largest behavioral disorder therapeutic day school in Chicago.  When asked why he came to UCAN, Fred stated, "he came because he felt supported by the administration and that he felt he could develop an environment in which people wanted to work together". 

Fred's previous experience includes working in the public and private education systems as well as the college sector.  Fred has worked in and is certified in both regular and special education.
