Faces of UCAN's LGBTQ Host Homes Program
In 2010, Georgette was 22 years old, homeless, jobless, but not without ambition and hope. Through UCAN's LGBTQ Host Home Program, she met Joni and Karen, who welcomed her into their home, provided her with care and support, and helped her help herself. A year later, Georgette lives in her own apartment and is studying to become a Veterinary Assistant.
The Host Home Program pairs compassionate volunteers with homeless LGBTQ youth to provide temporary housing and help clear the pathway to long-term stability and independence. Engage. Empower.
