John Hill


John Hill, Jr. is an entrepreneur with experience in the Internet, wireless, telecommunications and electronic recycling industries. He is currently providing consulting services to Locallife.com an Internet start up focused on empowering small business owners to establish or enhance their presence on the Internet.

Prior to stepping into the consulting arena, Mr. Hill led an environmental start up, Square Circle launching in 2008. Square Circle was focused on recycling end-of-life electronics with no impact to the environment. In Q1 2011 Square Circle has transitioned it's customers to a strategic partner.

Before launching Square Circle, John was the President of Urban Media Group (UMG) a wireless retail company, exclusively representing U.S. Cellular products and services. John launched UMG in 2002 and with the assistance of a strong management team grew the organization from two locations and five employees to twenty-five locations across three states with 125 employees. John and his partners successfully negotiated an exit strategy in 2008.

Previous to building a successful wireless retail business, John participated in leadership roles in sales and marketing with three, Chicago start-ups in the telecommunications and Internet infrastructure industries.

In addition to his participation in the UCAN organization for the last six years, John also served on the governing board for the Chicago Christian Industrial League (CCIL) and successfully assisted in managing the merger of CCIL and The Safe Haven organization.

Mr. Hill graduated from the University of Illinois in 1991 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Speech Communications. He lives in Northwest Indiana with his wife Tracy and their four sons, Maxwell, Grayson, Walker and Landon. Mr. Hill also enjoys playing drums, golf ,working out and martial arts.
