Lawrence I. Hayes

Larry Hayes was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and attended Milford High School in Illinois. He graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with a BA in Chemistry and Zoology. 

After graduation, he began a career in the Chemical Industry which has lasted nearly fifty years.  During this time, Larry owned his own business for 35 years.

Larry was introduced to UCAN in 1992, and has been actively involved since 1995.  He relates to UCAN's youth because he spent his summers in college living in an orphanage with his mother, where she cared for twelve middle school-aged youth.  Larry serves on the Governing Board and the Resource Development Committee for UCAN, and acts as UCAN's Planned Giving Officer on a volunteer basis.  Larry also serves as a mentor to one of UCAN's Residential Treatment Center youth.

Larry's hobbies include reading, music, golf, exercise, yoga, and traveling.  He and his wife Barbara live in Arlington Heights.
