Ricardo Knight


Ricardo A. Knight, M.D., MBA started his career in rehabilitation medicine as a Physical Therapist in 1987 and went on to receive his Medical Degree in 1993 from State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. He received his training in Internal Medicine and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia. Dr. Knight is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Knight obtained his MBA from the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business.

Before founding Medlux Rehabilitation & Wellness, Dr. Knight served as Chief Medical Officer for Advanced Physicians S.C. from 2003 to 2006. Dr. Knight was employed by the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago where he served as the Administrative Medical Director of RIC's partnership with the Alexian Brothers Hospital Network. In that capacity, Dr. Knight directed a network of physical medicine services that included a 66-bed rehabilitation hospital, two out patient centers, a day rehabilitation center and rehabilitation services at two acute care hospitals. Prior to his work at Alexian Brothers Dr. Knight was the Medical Director for Inpatient Rehabilitation for RIC's partnership with Loyola University Hospital in Maywood, Illinois.

Dr. Knight's academic appointments include being an instructor at Harvard Medical School's Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation in Cambridge, Massachusetts and being an Assistant Professor at Northwestern University's School of Medicine in Chicago.

Dr. Knight belongs to the following professional societies: American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Association of Academic Physiatrists, American Congress of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and International Society of Physical and Rehabilitative Medicine.
