Renita White

Vice President, Housing Support & Workforce Development
Renita has worked in the field of social services for over twenty-five years, receiving a Master's degree in Public Policy and Administration from the University of Chicago's School of Social Service Administration in 1993 and a professional license in social work from the State of Illinois in 1994. She joined UCAN in May of 2010 as the Vice President of Housing Support & Workforce Development.
Renita's extensive management experience began at an early age when she was offered a Vice Presidency position at Central Baptist Family Services (now One Hope United). Throughout her career Ms. White has successfully managed multiple programs throughout the City of Chicago including Child Welfare, Mental Health, Day Treatment, Counseling, Health, Nursing, and Transitional Housing for the Homeless. Most recently Ms. White has focused on ensuring the highest level of quality throughout a range of programs as Director of Quality Assurance of The Children's Place Association.
Renita has worked with the nationally recognized Child Welfare League of America, sitting on special policy task forces whose goals were to write best practice guidelines for adolescent programs with a direct impact on national policy. She has also served on multiple task forces within the Department of Children and Family Services.
In addition to her role at UCAN, Renita currently serves as a Peer Reviewer and Technical Assistant for the Council on Accreditation, which certifies and ensures best practices for child welfare agencies across the nation. She has demonstrated remarkable successes in implementation and management of quality improvement initiatives within agencies and has a proven track record for assisting agencies to successfully pass the stringent COA accreditation process. Renita is also a member of, "Who's Who of Professionals" and an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Public Service Sorority, Inc.
