From the President's Desk

Welcome to UCAN!

At UCAN we believe that youth who have suffered trauma can become our future leaders.  We are a social service organization that focuses on healing trauma, educating children and families and preventing violence.  When children have been wounded by trauma, we are here to help.  When communities are struggling with violence, we have a variety of prevention programs to offer in schools and the community that helps young people chose alternatives to violence.  We provide outpatient therapy services for individual and families to guidance and support those in need.  The therapeutic day school for elementary and high school students has offered a solid education to many youth who may have otherwise dropped out of school.  Residential treatment and foster care programs work with severely traumatized youth who have been removed from their homes.  Our continuum of services offers a variety of programs to meet the needs of many children and families.

UCAN's community and corporate partners make all of this possible.  Through our collaborations we are able to provide excellent programs to thousands of youth and families in need in the Chicago area every year.
