2007 Golf Outing

Highland Park Mayor Michael Belsky welcomed over one hundred golfers to Highland Park Country Club on July 18, 2007 for our 7th Annual Best Ball Golf Scramble. As Honorary Chair, he introduced our four guest NFL athletes who have supported UCAN's children, youth, and families: Chicago Bears Luke Butkus and Kyle Orton, Arizona Cardinal Ahmad Merritt, and Detroit Lion Marcus Robinson. Keith Byrd, a participant in our Project Visible Man community youth group, presented them with certificates of appreciation. In return, the athletes signed his t-shirt.

The Best Ball Golf Scramble, sponsored by our Auxiliary Board, grossed more than $47,000 for the social service programs and support we provide to children, youth, and families that have experienced abuse, poverty, and neglect.

A special thanks to the Auxiliary Board members of the Golf Scramble Committee chaired by Allison Winton: Elliott Darvik, Molly McCabe, Allison Sander, and Daniella Farber Schwartz.
