Preventing Violence


Hands Without Guns-Chicago is a public health and education campaign to increase public awareness, influence peer behavior, change policy, and engage adults in dialogue regarding gun violence prevention in Illinois. 

Youth Leadership Development Institute consists of aspiring young leaders, trained to become change agents through developing community service projects and community outreach events focused on educating their peers of the dangers of gun violence, risky behaviors and unhealthy relationships.

Project Visible Man (PVM) is a youth empowerment program for young men of color, ages 13-24.  It is designed to encourage self-respect and transform dysfunctional behaviors through the exercise of willpower, positive reinforcement and real-life role models.

Phenomenal Woman (PW) is a youth empowerment program for young women, ages 14-24.  It is designed to help young women develop a healthy self image, seek healthy and supportive relationships and aspire to their greatest potential.
