High Risk Infant Program
The High-Risk Infant Program provides preventative and supportive services to families coping with high-risk pregnancies and premature or multiple births. The program creates a support network for at-risk families by providing transportation, in-home support and referrals to other needed services such as counseling, evaluations from birth to age three, and medical specialists. Additionally, the program's comprehensive services prevent high-risk families from becoming involved with the child welfare system.
UCAN provides the following in-home non-medical services:
- Parenting support and guidance
- Links to community resources
- Review of the developmental stages of the
child(ren) - Household organization
- Meal planning and preparation
- Assistance with medical care planning
- Provision of a second pair of hands
- Transportation and escort to medical appointments and hospitals
- Specific, unique services as identified, such as those related to language or special development needs
