Teen Report Card
UCAN's Teen Report Card is a nationwide survey of teens publicizing teen attitudes and concerns about the adults in their lives such as parents, teachers and coaches. Select participants then join school superintendents and other adult allies in a press conference where the results of the Teen Report Card are released and adults are graded for their ability to build significant and sustainable relationships with youth. The teens also offer practical suggestions on how adults can improve their grades, and consequently their relationships with the youth they encounter.
"It's scary knowing I have lost so many schoolmates to gun violence, and it's hard to concentrate in school when I'm worried about violence," said Briana, a 16 year old student at the Al Raby School for Community and Environment. "Adults need to work together and work with us to get this figured out, so that young people across Chicago's communities can be safer."
