Vanita Stevenson

Vanita is currently with Employ America, LLC, a Chicago based employment services company, with clients in the non-profit and government sectors, providing job placement and backoffice services. As Vice-President, Vanita manages staff in Chicago and Dallas, and oversees all operations of the company, including payroll services, risk management, client services and support.

In addition to her position at Employ America, Vanita formed her own 501c3, with a mission to provideemployee assistance programs and services, as well as job readiness training and job placement services to At Risk Youth, working with the Juvenile Court of Cook County and with the City of Chicago Children and Family Services.

Prior to joining Employ America, Vanita spent over eighteen years with Digital Equipment Corporation in varioussales and support management positions. Her last five years at Digital (which merged with Compaq/Hewlett Packard) was spent as Regional Business Manager, responsible for the company's profitability in their network support and integration business throughout the midwestern and western states in the U.S.

Vanita has been on the Board of Directors of UCAN for ten years in various leadership positions. In those ten years, she has been Chair of the Board of Directors; Vice-Chair; Chair of the Board Program Committe and Chair of the UCAN Youth Advocacy Awards.

Vanita received her B.S. from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois and is currently married, with two children.
