Walter Grauer
Vice President, Information Technology
Walter joined UCAN in October 1995 in the specialized SACY residential program and served as Assistant Coordinator of that program until 1997. In August 1997 Walter became Coordinator of Special Projects, where he was the UCAN project lead in a multi-agency writing effort which resulted in UCAN being awarded the contract for what would eventually become the Teen Parenting Service Network.
Walter joined the UCAN Information Technology (IT) team in 1999 as the Helpdesk Administrator. From 2001 to 2005 Walt served as Project Manager for the IT department and managed day to day helpdesk operations and provided data analysis for the agency. In September 2005 Walter took the position of Technical Communications and Training Specialist and initiated a project to introduce an intranet to the UCAN community. Walt developed, implemented and supported the UCAN Intranet until he assumed his role as Director of IT at UCAN in October of 2008. In his current position Walter oversees UCAN's Information Technology department, which is responsible for network infrastructure and software support.
Walt participates in several UCAN committees and groups, including the Communications Committee and the UCAN Green Group. In addition to his responsibilities at UCAN, Walt is a technology instructor at MacCormac College in Chicago and a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI).
