Zack Schrantz

President & Chief Operating Officer

Zack Schrantz has been with UCAN since 1990, at which time he joined the organization as a Caseworker in Relative Foster Care.  He shifted into the Finance department in 1991 as Controller, and was promoted in 1993 to the position of Vice President of Finance and Operations.  In this role he was responsible for finance, human resources, IT, quality assurance and program evaluation, facilities, and Child and Family ProFile, UCAN's client information software system which he helped design and develop.

From 1999 to 2004, Zack served as the Executive Vice President / Chief Financial Officer of UCAN, continuing his above responsibilities. In addition, he oversaw the creation, development and implementation of the largest child welfare managed care contract in Illinois, UCAN's Teen Parenting Service Network.  From 2005 through 2010, Zack held the position of Executive Vice President / Chief Operating Officer.  He was named to his current position of President / COO in December of 2010.

He is a Fellow of Leadership Greater Chicago, a board member of the Child Care Association of IL, a Co-Chair of the CCAI Diversity Workgroup, and a Co-Chair of the CWAC SACWIS Private Agency Advisory Committee.  Zack is also a Diakonal Minister.

Zack obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Computer Applications from the University of Notre Dame in 1989, and his Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1995.  He and his wife live in Chicago and have three children.
